Company advertises on Craiglist and various other sites stating that after a $99.00 charge to do a background check on you, and that once you pass, you will receive leads from both private and bank sources for contractor and handyman jobs. States it takes about 3 days for this check to be completed long enough for the charge to clear your bank and then you will start receiving leads. You do receive leads but you usually never get a response back or they are usually filled long before you have a chance to even respond. If you try to contact the website to find out any information you are sent an auto-reply e-mail referring you back to the FAQ which give you a very, very limited amount of answers. If you call, you will never speak to anyone, just a voice mail stating to leave a message or to contact them via e-mail either to a Sarah White or a JOEL BECKER. Mr. Becker responds with e-mails stating “Hi, feel free to intimidate us” or “Hi, you intimidate me” which leads you right back to the place you started. The BBB has a 2 page list of complaints dating back to January of 2009. Also, if you request a copy of your background check from InquestServices.com, Mr. Becker is the one that e-mails you to tell you to request a copy from Inquest Services. If you do receive a copy of a background check it is not on you, but someone else.

For this discussion, we will consider the materials and costs for the installation of a bamboo floor in the average 250 square foot family room (measuring 16′x16′). This pricing will assume that the owner will want to keep costs low and will NOT include such things as:

* The fees associated with the removal of pre-existing flooring;
* Any furniture removal or replacement; or
* The removal and re-installation of moldings and baseboard.

Is bamboo something that can be installed by a DIY enthusiast? Most flooring experts state that it takes the experienced individual to understand the complexities of a flooring installation, but many people can manage the basic cuts and techniques required for such a project.

The average costs and materials associated with this project include:

* Preparing the old floor for the new installation – This means taking a good look at the pre-existing subfloor, and if any joists or plywood need replacing the costs would be $22 per 4′x8′ sheet of plywood. Assuming that the family room is exactly 16′x16′ without any interfering walls or angles, the job would require at least 8 sheets at a cost of approximately $176. Remember, however, that bamboo is one material that can be laid directly atop a concrete subfloor;
